SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN
TREASURE HUNTERS

THE SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN TREASURE HUNTERS 21ST ANNUAL
LOST DUTCHMAN TREASURE & NUGGET HUNT
February 21, 2010
AT
APACHE JUNCTION, AZ

* Note: This is a ‘rain or shine’ Hunt

Last years Hunt was for club members only. This year will be one big hunt lasting for 2 hours open to the public again. The hunt will start at 10am on the 21st. One big day, One great hunt. Everyone has the potential to win since a beginner has the same chance as a pro to find buried tokens good for gold nuggets. This year we are again returning to Apache Junction where the last 2 hunts have been held. It is in the shadow of the mysterious Superstition Mountains. There are many wonderful shops to browse and enjoy. February 21st is the start of the ‘Lost Dutchman Days Celebration’.

Other Activities

Nothing can surpass the adventure of Historic Apache Trail in beauty and variety. You can "Do the Trail" in a day, or just do a part of it. The Mountain's beauty and mystery will be with you wherever you go. The Boyce Arboretum is just up the road (Hwy. 60) towards Superior. The area is constantly growing, and you’ll be sure to find a place you haven’t visited before.

Be sure to visit the Superstition Mountain Historical Museum and learn about the area’s history as you browse the displays and read of the wonderful history surrounding the Superstition Mountains. Hike the nearby trails and see old working mining equipment and take a tour of the remaining buildings from the former movie set of Apacheland, which burned to the ground except for the ‘Rifleman’s barn’ and the Elvis Presley Memorial Chapel. These were donated to the museum, and were disassembled and moved to the museum grounds and rebuilt.

Hunt registration form, rules and map to the hunt are ready to be downloaded and filled out for mailing. We will start accepting hunt signups on January 2nd, 2010. Cut off date is February 7, 2010.
